Ioniq 5 battery health after 2 years - anyone got data?

Just hit 2 years with my Ioniq 5 and I'm seeing about 4% degradation on the battery health check. Is that normal? I charge to 80% most days and only go to 100% before long trips. Just wondering what everyone else is seeing after a couple of years - is 4% about right or am I being too careful with it?

4% after 2 years is well within normal, honestly. The big drop happens in the first year then it levels off. I'm at 5% on my Born after 18 months and the car still shows 240+ miles on a full charge.

My Kona's done 3 years and it's about 6% down. It's been absolutely fine - I do the same 80% rule and only charge to 100% when I'm going somewhere properly far. Seems to work.

That's reassuring, thanks both. I'll stop worrying about it and just enjoy the car. It's still the best car I've owned even with the range drop.

Aye, DevonDawn. I drive a Polestar 2, but to be fair, Hyundai batteries are dead right solid. Mine's barely degraded after 25k miles. Just got back from a Highland drive—stopped for a whisky in Aviemore, naturally. The InstaVolt chargers were brilliant, unlike the English muppets I saw blocking the Edinburgh bypass! I reckon you'll be fine. Are you on Intelligent Octopus for your home charging?

Hello dear. I don't have an Ioniq, just my trusty Nissan Leaf, but I reckon battery health on these newer cars is quite sensible. I only potter down the country lanes to the village fairs and church groups, so I use my Pod Point at home on Octopus Go. Never worry about degradation when you're only doing four thousand miles a year! Safe travels down those narrow Norfolk lanes.

Morning DevonDawn! I don't have an Ioniq (I drive a Mini Electric), but I reckon battery degradation is pretty minimal across the board now. I checked my app after 18 months and I'm still at 98% SOH. I mostly charge on Intelligent Octopus after my Tuesday yoga in Brighton, with the odd InstaVolt dash over the South Downs to the farmers market. To be fair, the Ioniq's liquid cooling is miles better than my air-cooled Mini, so yours should be absolutely fine!

Alright bab! I don't have an Ioniq, I'm on my second year with the MG4. To be fair, my battery's held up dead well. I reckon the M6 toll helps avoid the stop-start which is proper good for the cells. Just done 20k miles on Intelligent Octopus and Gridserve rapid chargers. I tell yer what, nothing beats a drive down the M5 to the Balti Triangle for a cheeky lamb balti afterwards though! How's yours doing?
