Bloody M62 rapid chargers - am I getting fleeced or is it just me?

Ey up. Right, I’m absolutely fuming. Took the Model 3 up to see the missus in Harrogate yesterday, freezing rain sideways, and had to top up at the Gridserve on the M62. Bloody thing was taking 45 minutes and they’re charging 79p a kilowatt-hour! I know the cold drops the range, my 2021 Model 3 was only showing 210 miles on a full charge, but 79p? I’m paying nearly fifty quid just to get to Leeds. Is there any trick to getting the Tesla app to switch to the cheaper local resident rate, or are we just getting ripped off? Any lads got a better tariff for public top-ups that actually works with the Tesla navigation? Cheers.

Aye Pete, you're dead right about the M62. Stopped at an InstaVolt near Leeds last week and it nearly bankrupted me! 79p a unit is an absolute rip-off. I reckon the English drivers queueing up just make it worse. When I drive my Polestar 2 down from Edinburgh to the Highlands, I stick to Gridserve. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off for a dram of whisky to recover from those prices.

Ey up. Since I kicked this thread off, a lad told me to use Gridserve at Ferrybridge instead of InstaVolt. Bloody hell, he was dead right. InstaVolt was fleecing me at 79p a unit! Gridserve is 44p. M62 is a miserable nightmare in this freezing rain anyway, so at least I'm not getting robbed while I'm stuck. Reckon I'll stick to Gridserve from now on.
