Anyone else's Mini Electric range taking a massive hit now the nights are drawing in?

Right, I know the Mini Electric isn't exactly a long-distance cruiser, but I'm proper cross about the range drop now it's getting chilly. I drove over the South Downs to the Chichester farmers market on Saturday, and with the heated seats and demister on, my estimated range plummeted from about 105 miles down to 72 on the dash! It’s a 40-mile round trip, but I was sweating bullets the whole way back, wondering if I’d make it to the Gridserve at Lewes. I usually do my Sunday morning yoga in Brighton, but I’m terrified to turn the heater on for the A27 now. How are you lot managing with short-range EVs in the winter? Do you just bite the bullet and use the public chargers, or is there a trick?

Couldn't agree more, Sue. The cold really does knock the range down a treat, even on my Ioniq 5. Though to be fair, I mostly potter down the coastal roads near Clovelly rather than doing massive miles. Had to use InstaVolt up the A30 yesterday though, proper narrow lanes getting there! Still, nothing a decent cream tea in Bude can't fix. Are you on Intelligent Octopus for your home charging to offset the winter drain?

Spot on, Sue. I reckon the cold hits the Cupra Born hard too, especially cycling up past the Clifton Suspension Bridge! Swapped my Zoe for the Born and the winter range drop is still a shocker. To be fair, pre-heating while plugged into my Intelligent Octopus tariff saves the battery a bit. Off for a vegan cake and a cycle ride now, cheers mate!
