Overview

The Volkswagen ID.3 has been reborn for 2026 as the ID.3 Neo, with a sleeker exterior, upgraded cabin technology and a new battery line-up offering up to 390 miles of WLTP range from the 79kWh pack. It is Volkswagen's electric hatchback core, combining the familiar easy-going MEB driving character with noticeably longer legs for UK motorway use. Interior quality takes a step forward with a larger 12.9-inch touchscreen, the IDA voice assistant and wireless smartphone charging as standard, while the 183kW peak DC charging can top the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in around half an hour. Space remains a strong suit, with a roomy rear bench and a 385-litre boot that makes the ID.3 one of the most practical cars in its class. With the Government's £1,500 Electric Car Grant available on qualifying versions, the ID.3 remains a compelling, genuinely likeable all-rounder for families and fleet drivers alike.
