Overview
The MG5 remains the UK's only mainstream all-electric estate car, and it earns its place with genuinely useful practicality: a 479-litre boot behind the rear seats, expanding to 1,367 litres with them folded, in a body that is a refreshingly affordable alternative to SUVs. The Long Range version pairs a 61.1kWh battery with a WLTP range of up to 250 miles, while the front-mounted 154bhp motor provides a sprightly 0-62mph time of around 7.7 seconds. DC rapid charging peaks at 87kW, allowing a 10-80 per cent top-up in about 35 minutes, and the seven-year warranty adds reassurance. Ride comfort and urban agility are highlights, and while the interior is functional rather than flashy, the MG5's combination of low price, estate practicality and decent range makes it a uniquely sensible option for UK buyers who need to carry lots of luggage without paying SUV prices.Want the full picture?
